On the afternoon of September 23, 2026, in Da Nang, the High Command of Military Region 5 held a ceremony to receive specialized Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) equipment manufactured by IDS GeoRadar (Italy) and donated by the Thien Tam Foundation (Vingroup). The devices will directly support the search and collection of fallen soldiers' remains. This event represents a practical initiative in response to the "500-Day-and-Night Campaign to Intensify the Search, Collection, and Identification of Martyrs' Remains."

In reality, Military Region 5 features complex mountainous terrain where battlefield traces have significantly altered over time. The application of Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) technology opens a new approach, enhancing sub-surface "see-through" capabilities to detect underground anomalies. This technology enables precise zoning of suspected sites, minimizing large-scale excavation, and drastically saving search time and effort.
