The International Roughness Index (IRI) has long been recognized as a core global standard for evaluating the evenness and smoothness of road surfaces, playing a decisive role in ensuring traffic safety and optimizing vehicle flow efficiency. Acquiring a highly accurate and advanced IRI measurement system like the PaveProf V2.0 will significantly enhance the university's capacity for construction quality inspection and monitoring. Furthermore, it will effectively support teaching, in-depth scientific research, and the development of optimal solutions for sustainable transportation infrastructure in Vietnam.
To ensure the equipment's capabilities are fully maximized and operated in strict accordance with technical procedures upon handover, ILTech's team of experienced engineers conducted a systematic and comprehensive technology transfer program, covering both theoretical knowledge and practical application.
Accordingly, the system features high-end laser sensor units that were securely and aesthetically mounted on the rear of a specialized survey vehicle (a Ford Ranger pickup). The data communication system transmits synchronized data in real-time to specialized management software installed on a control computer located inside the vehicle's cabin.

The PaveProf V2.0 laser sensor system from PaveTesting (UK) was securely and seamlessly installed on the back of the pickup truck by ILTech engineers for field surveys.
Within the framework of the technology transfer and user training program, the university's technical staff and lecturers received hands-on instructions covering every step: from initial preparation and equipment calibration to software parameter configuration and the actual data collection process on public roads.
